Members of Pediatric and Neonatal Anesthesia Committee (NAPEN) attended the anesthesia congresses of the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) and the Society of Pediatric Anesthesia (SPA). Dr. Rafaela Machado, our first class fellow who is currently in Boston doing a research fellowship, presented two challenging cases that she participated in during her fellowship at NAPEN. In addition, Drs. Vinicius Quintão, Gabriel Soares and Rafaela Machado had the opportunity to participate in a journal club with anesthesiologists and residents from the Boston area at the home of Prof. Charles Coté, editor of the world’s leading textbook on pediatric anesthesia. Finally, Dr. Gabriel Soares and Dr. Vinicius Quintão gave a lecture on the challenges of pediatric anesthesia in Brazil to their colleagues at Boston Children’s Hospital. These were intense weeks of hard work, meetings and sharing experiences.
